Universality of Riemann solutions in porous media

چکیده
Abstract Universality, a desirable feature in any system. For decades, elusive measurements of three-phase flows have yielded countless permeability models that describe them. However, the equations governing solution water and gas co-injection has robust structure. This universal structure stands for Riemann problems green oil reservoirs. In past we established large class three phase flow including convex Corey permeability, Stone I Brooks–Corey models. These share property characteristic speeds become equal at state somewhere interior saturation triangle. Here construct model with unequal triangle, equality occurring only point boundary Yet this still displays same structure, which favors two possible embedded two-phase water-oil or gas-oil. We focus on showing under minimum conditions must meet. finding is guide to seeking purely maximizing recovery.

Asymptotic solutions of compaction in porous media
Compaction in reactive porous media is modelled as a reaction-diffusion process with a moving boundary. Asymptotic analysis is used to find solutions for the coupled nonlinear compaction equations, and a traveling wave solution is obtained above the reaction zone.
متن کاملCombustion waves and Riemann solutions in light porous foam
We prove the existence of traveling waves, and identify the wave sequences appearing in Riemann solutions, for a system of three evolutionary partial differential equations that models combustion of light porous foam under air injection.
متن کاملPorous media plumes: transient filling box solutions
We examine the transient flow of a negatively buoyant, laminar plume in an emptying filling box filled with porous medium. As the system reaches steady state, the box is partitioned into two uniform layers of different densities. However, the approach towards steady state is characterized by a contaminated layer that is continuously stratified. Whereas the presence of a continuous stratificatio...
متن کاملMultiple Solutions for Slip Effects on Dissipative Magneto-Nanofluid Transport Phenomena in Porous Media: Stability Analysis
In the present paper, a numerical investigation of transport phenomena is considered in electrically-conducting nanofluid flow within a porous bed utilizing Buongiorno’s transport model and Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg fourth-fifth order method. Induced flow by non-isothermal stretching/shrinking sheet along with magnetic field impact, dissipation effect, and slip conditions at the surface are...
متن کاملBrine transport in porous media: self-similar solutions
In this paper we analyze a model for brine transport in porous media, which includes a mass balance for the fluid, a mass balance for salt, Darcy’s law and an equation of state, which relates the fluid density to the salt mass fraction. This model incorporates the effect of local volume changes due to variations in the salt concentration. Density variations affect the compressibility of the flu...
